This board is no joke, while the “Alpha” name may seem a bit extreme or silly, it really is the new alpha in my opinion for anyone looking at Threadripper. The new Zenith features a VRM so large it takes up the entirety of the top of the board going from basically end to end with VRM components.

The ROG Strix B450-F Gaming has a monochromatic look with it’s black PCB and gunmetal grey heatsinks on the VRM’s as well as on top of the chipset. This should blend in any PC build theme and I’m sure PC modders would love this neutral design.

ASUS put seven fan headers on the motherboard, all of them are hybrid DC/PWM mode fans, one is occupied by the heat sink fans. The orange and blue fan headers are all rated 1A, but the blue share controls. The red and yellow headers offer 3A, but the yellow headers run full speed by default.

The price is the same as before at £520, but this is still considerably higher than both the aforementioned MSI and Gigabyte boards, which sit at £470 and £430 respectively and offer similar feature sets.
