MSI MPG Z590 GAMING CARBON WIFI – PurePC

MSI MPG Z590 Gaming Carbon WiFi thanks to the Intel Z590 chipset enables the use of the full potential of the LGA1200 platform with Intel Comet Lake / Rocket Lake processors, because traditionally only “Zetka” allows for free overclocking. The setting of higher RAM memory dividers has been unlocked for Intel B560 / H570 chipsets, but the experience so far shows that models based on weaker logic systems offer less possibilities here.

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO – Pokde

ASUS offers quite significant improvements with the ROG Maximus XIII Hero to justify the significant price increase over its predecessor. The beefier VRMs, increased number of high speed ports and Thunderbolt 4 are definitely worth the extra cost if you can utilize them. However it does definitely jack up the entry point into the Republic of Gamers, which was already quite high previously.

ASUS TUF GAMING Z590-PLUS WIFI – PC Gamer

The TUF Z590 Plus features a subtle design with a particularly nice white font. You get a couple of little splashes of RGB around the right side. It’s a nice look. There are three M.2 slots with the topmost one supporting PCIe 4.0. The two at the bottom are contained under a single heatsink. Also note the vertical SATA ports that sticklers for cable management might find objectionable. There are a further two regular horizontal ports adjacent to the heatsink.  You get six fan headers and two addressable RGB headers too.

ASRock Z590 PG Velocita- PC Gamer

The ASRock Z590 PG Velocita is part of the relatively new Velocita product family. It aims to appeal to gamers looking for a premium tier gaming board without wanting to shell out the big dollars for things like add-in cards, water blocks, or 10G Lan. It sits below the Taichi and above the mainstream lines in ASRock’s product stack; think of it like Asus’ TUF Gaming range of boards.

The X570 Velocita and the Z490 Velocita were well received. But does the new Z590 flavour have what it takes to compete in a cut-throat competitive market?

MSI MAG Z590 TORPEDO – itndaily

Why is the MSI MAG Z590 Torpedo device of interest to an overclocker? Yes, because a solid Duet Rail power subsystem (14 + 2 + 1) is installed here, cooled by powerful radiators. The CPU has a pair of connectors (8 + 4-pin), so power problems during overclocking are excluded.

The MSI MAG Z590 Torpedo has a large number of drive connectors. These are six classic SATA III sockets , and as many as three M.2 sockets , one of which is called Lightning M.2, it is able to host a PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD.

By the way, only three mentioned connectors are protected by radiators, one remained completely bare , but in our opinion, this is an insignificant problem, given that many high  speed solid – state devices are equipped with miniature aluminum plates.

Supermicro SuperO C9Z590-CGW – FunkyKit

There were no problems with stability or performance during all our tests. The CPU overclocks well and even higher than on some other motherboards. However, I wish to see better compatibility with higher frequency memory kits. RAM is stable and for most users, DDR4-3600 is still more than enough but the competition offers much higher speeds.

Gamers may also want RGB and ARGB connectors which are not available on the CZ590-CGW. For me, it’s not an issue as I’m not a fan of flashy PC and I know that many users dislike RGB lighting too. It’s just a standard nowadays that gaming motherboards have these connectors onboard.

ASRock Z590 PG Velocita – Hexus

Let’s start with the good. We like the general layout, colour scheme (surprisingly), and appreciate the attention paid to larger VGA cards through the bundled holder. Power delivery is robust, heatsinks extremely well-built, and enough onboard buttons and fans to sate enthusiasts’ needs.

But we’d prefer a richer I/O panel, more 20Gbps USB, full-speed AVX by default, and a dual 2.5G networking suite from Intel.

We’d therefore recommend ASRock drop the price of this board down to, say, £250, given our conclusions. At that price point, with due consideration of the competition, the Z590 PG Velocita becomes decent instead of reasonable.
