MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI – Guru3D

The looks are fantastic, the features pretty grand. There is a pre-installed I/O shield on the MSI MPG Z690 Edge Wifi DDR5 motherboard, as well as a black chassis with heatsinks to display its internals in black. VRM on this one includes 16 actual phases (15+1), a PWM-Controller RAA229131, and MOSFETs CPU are 15x 75A RAA220075 and for the SoC 1x 75A RAA220075. There are four M.2 slots on the board, and each one has a heatsink attached to it. Furthermore, they are all capable of running at PCIe 4.0 speeds. Sixteen PCIe 5.0 lanes can be supported by the first x16 slot, whereas only four PCIe 3.0 lanes can be supported by the other x16 slots.

The pcb arrives in ATX format with dimensions of 305 x 240 mm being the base color black with white serigraphy. The heatsinks arrive in complete black except for the decorative details in white. Instead, the protector of external connections receives illumination in the Dragon that is incorporated. We can also see more lighting near the chipset protector although with a graphics card installed we will not be able to appreciate it.

The renewed connectivity is found in important elements, especially in communication with the processor, introducing additional performance buses such as DMI 4.0 that uses an 8x PCI Express 4.0 interface, doubling the bandwidth available to the Z590 and also doubling the bandwidth of its direct competition, the AMD X570. They are a total of 128GT/s of bandwidth, double that of the previous generation, which was already double the previous one.
