MSI MPG Z590 CARBON EK X – eTeknix

The MSI MPG Z590 CARBON EK X has a lot more to offer feature-wise than just the amazing EK CPU Block that it comes with! Being on the latest Intel Chipset, Z590, the CARBON EK X can also offer support for things like WiFi 6e, PCIe Gen4 and much more. Unfortunately, as with all of the Z590 boards we have seen, the PCIe Gen4 only works when using an 11th Gen CPU. It would have been nice to see some Gen 4 slots run off the chipset, but Intel seems to have given this a miss this time around.

MSI MPG Z590 CARBON EK X – Overclocking

First of all, the performance, which is excellent with our i9-11900K and which is quite close to what we were able to achieve with the MEG Z590 ACE model. This “Carbon EK X” version also offers ultra-complete connectivity with three SSD slots as well as numerous USB ports as well as the presence of an HDMI and DisplayPort output. And not to spoil anything, the displayed price of 508.30 euros seems perfectly justified to us. If we perform a very fast calculation, we have a waterblock whose price we estimate at 175 euros, the EK-Leak Tester at 35.50 euros and a voucher from EK worth 50 euros, which makes us a total of 235.50 euros.

As previously mentioned, the MSI MPG Z590 Carbon EK X is based on the MSI MPG Z590 Gaming Carbon WiFi model with an EKWB monoblock. No other modifications have been made to the laminate – the layout of the elements is identical in both cases. Although it is theoretically only average among designs using the Intel Z590 chipset, it turns out to be really well-equipped with, among others, on board.
