ASUS TUF GAMING A520M-PLUS

This is a compact mATX motherboard that makes the most of AMD’s budget chipset. Although there is no PCIe 4.0 support, this is hardly necessary for low-end motherboards. ASUS Launches B450 II Series Motherboards

No, you did not read that wrong. ASUS announced an updates II Series of B450 motherboards. With the recent launch of B550, this is a tad perplexing, but we’ll see how this works out. The B450 lacks any of the PCIe 4.0 goodness on B550, but the advantages thee at the moment are minimal in real world scenarios for the average user. The real benefit here is budget performance, and the addition of features like BIOS Flashback, Fan Xpert 4 and AI noise cancelling tech. Take a deeper look at ASUS.

ASRock B550M-HDV

Clocking in around $80, it sits rather more comfortably with the value-orientated B550’s market positioning. Not that the B550 is a bum chipset. In fact, it isn’t miles away from its bigger X570 brother by most metrics. The key differentiator between the two involves the link between the CPU and PCH chip, the latter essentially being the motherboard chipset thanks to much of what used to be chipset functionality now residing on the CPU package.
