GIGABYTE’s B550 AORUS PRO is here, it’s affordable and it goes like the clappers. Armed with 2.5G Lan, dual M.2 sockets, a 12+2 phase PWM and the ability to overclock memory well past the 5,200MT/s range, the board is a mini performance wonder. The B550 AORUS Pro is the fastest AM4 board I’ve tested to date. For DRAM oc and general performance, few if any are faster then the B550 AORUS PRO.

The B550 chipset will have some limitations compared to X570 but will provide a budget friendly option for the Ryzen 3000 CPU’s. And still provide all the great speed we are looking for! The Aorus Pro still has all the parts we want – PCI Express 4.0 (albeit few lanes than the X570),  USB 3.2 Gen2, support for 5GHz+ DDR4 and all the Ryzen CPUs. In fact it’s tough to see exactly what you’re missing out on if you choose to go down the B550 route or even just the Pro rather than the Master.

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO

The trio all features an integrated I/O shield. The Pro and Elite share the same power-delivery consisting of a 12-phase supply to the CPU plus another two for the SoC. In detail, the boards use a six-phase Intersil ISL229004 PWM that’s doubled and connected to 12 Vishay SiC651C phases each capable of 55A. These appear to be unique to B550 as the Aorus X570 boards use different setups.
