Specifically, we’ll be looking at the ASRock B550M-HDV ($80.99), Gigabyte’s B550M DS3H ($94.99), the MSI B550M Pro-VDH Wi-Fi ($109.99), and our costliest contender, the Asus Prime B550M K ($120.99). Compared to what we’ve looked at in the past on B550, these boards skip many of the accouterments we’re used to seeing, like RGB lighting, shrouds and heatsinks on some items, and premium power delivery.

AnandTech’s Best Intel Motherboards: September ’20

As we move into the final period of Q3 2020, there is a wide variety of Intel-based motherboards on the market, spearheaded by LGA1200 models for the current 10th generation Comet Lake processors. Meet the Gigabyte B550 Vision D motherboard. This product from the Vision series (which includes also a Z490 motherboard) is an AMD AM4 socket product targeted at creators. Built-in the ATX form-factor, the design resembles GB’s Designaire models. Make no mistake, this is a high-end prduct.

GIGABYTE Z490 VISION G

GIGABYTE B550 VISION D

Gigabyte puts a B550 motherboard on the market with the B550 Vision D, which is rather poaching in the nobler upper house with currently a good 260 euro and is partly almost twice as expensive as the cheapest X570 boards. While I still had stomach aches with the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master to explain the price in a plausible way, the Gigabyte B550 Vision D is a little different.

GIGABYTE Z490 AORUS MASTER

The GIGABYTE Z490 Aorus Master is different. It does have a solid feature set but lacks excessive options or features that drive the price up too much. It’s not an inexpensive solution, but among Z490 motherboards, it offers no compromises on the performance side while being relatively reasonable in the price department. It is a solution ideal for the gamer or the overclocking enthusiast.
