MSI MAG B560M MORTAR WIFI – Tech News Today

The B560 Mortar motherboard has an all-black PCB with a silver finish on the heatsink. The combination of the black PCB and the white PCB is a good color scheme. This motherboard fits in almost any aesthetic build scenario. The motherboard has no RGB elements for customizability. The lack of RGB hardware might keep the final build cleaner.

MSI MAG B560M MORTAR WIFI – eTeknix

Having our first proper look at the board, we can see the heatsinks are of a light silvery colour while the PCB is black. This should still allow the B560M MORTAR WIFI to fit in with most build colour schemes with ease. We can also see at first glance this board should have most of the ports/headers/connections users will need to make the most out of the B560 chipset. We have dual M.2 slots, one of which is Gen4. We also have a few of each RGB and fan headers to make sure that we can keep our build as cool as possible, in both senses of the word ‘cool’.

MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK WIFI – Hardware-Inside

The MSI MAG B560 Tomahawk WIFI is currently available in stores at a price of around € 190. The B560 variant also supports PCIe 4.0 and it also has three M.2 connections. The other connection options are also impressive. Regarding the power supply, the temperatures could be lower, but it is more than sufficient. The only small point of criticism is the lack of a BIOS flash button. We give a clear recommendation.

ASUS TUF GAMING B560-PLUS WIFI – eTeknix

The B560 is around £100 cheaper at the time of review, so while it may not have all the features found on the Z590, it will be nice to see how the performance stacks up from a users point of view. One of the main differences is going to be that the B560 comes with an 8+1 Power Phase design, whereas the Z590 came with a 14+2 design. One of the other things I have noticed is that the B560 model comes with eight USB ports on the rear IO when the Z590 only has seven. One thing is for sure, they definitely have a good few differences despite all the similarities they have.

MSI MPG B560I GAMING EDGE – PC Gamer

A short stress test resulted in a VRM temperature reading of 73°C with a stock 11900K, which is the highest we’ve seen out of the 500-series motherboards we’ve tested to date. Though it still well within spec, If Adaptive Boost were to be enabled, the VRM would likely struggle. Having said all that, an 11900K paired with a B560 board is an unlikely combo and because it handled it with zero issue, it will handle more worldly 11th Gen processors with ease.

MSI MPG B560I GAMING EDGE WIFI – eTeknix

The MSI B560I GAMING EDGE WIFI motherboard is a more affordable ITX option for those looking to upgrade to Intel’s new 11th Gen of CPUs. Coming with most of the main features we have seen from Z590, the B560 chipset is looking to make its mark on the market. MSI has gone with dual M.2 drive slots, four SATA slots, plenty of USB options and more to make sure you are getting the most from your new hardware. The price is only going to make the deal that much sweeter and will ultimately be what persuades people to go with B560 over Z590.

ASUS B560 Motherboards – One M.2 Down w/10th Gen CPUs?

An interesting report out today from Wccftech that ASUS’ B560 motherboards, targeted for Intel 10th and 11th Gen CPUs, is lacking a PCIe switch. This all important switch is typically used to switch PCIe lanes based upon what is populated in the system. These chips are what allow for additional M.2 slots in place of other PCIe expansion slots if you choose to populate the M.2. Well, without this switch the 10th Gen CPUs will always be down one M.2 slot. Something to consider if you’re in the market for one of these B560 motherboards.

On ASUS B560 motherboards, there is no M.2 switch to connect the slot to either CPU or PCH so the first slot is only available for use when running an Intel 11th Gen Rocket Lake CPU. With 10th Gen CPUs, the first slot (which features a heatsink) will be disabled. Now including a PCIe switch does raise the cost but considering that ASUS asks a higher premium than other brands, there’s no reason as to why they shouldn’t provide this support when other manufacturers are doing so on cost-effective options. Only one entry-level B560 motherboard from ASUS has M.2 PCIe switches while the more expensive PRIME, TUF & ROG variants don’t feature it at all.

MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK WIFI – PurePC

The Tomahawk is a well-known motherboard family whose career took off with Intel Skylake processors and Intel 100 chipsets when the first MSI Z170A Tomahawk was released . The series has undergone major changes since then, including stylistic changes, because the precursor looked as if it was created on the occasion of the European Football Championship EURO 2021. Later, the Tomahawks went into much darker tones, maintaining their quasi-military direction until now.
