ASUS P5P55D Pro Preview

ASUS P5P55D Pro Preview @ TechGage

“I was amazed how much bundle I found with this motherboard : plenty of hardware components, but also a lot of useful utilities on the CD. The board performance was excellent and when I was overclocking, I never needed to reset the CMOS even once. When the board was not recovering, all I had to do was to push the Force Reset button, and the board was booting fine; I could modify this way the settings that did not work on the previous boot.”

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe Preview

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe Preview @ PCStats

“ASUS’ P7P55D-Deluxe motherboard is a socket 1156 Core i5 platform representing the flagship feature set. Along with the obvious support of Intel Lynnfield socket 1156 processors, the ASUS P7P55D-Deluxe motherboard features three PCI Express 2.0 x16 videocard slots for multi-graphic card set ups. Further expansion comes via a pair of PCI Express x1 and PCI slots. The P7P55D-Deluxe supports ATI Quad-GPU CrossfireX and nVidia Quad-GPU SLI, though you’d be hard pressed to find many users clamoring for a Geforce right now.”

MSI 785GM-E65

MSI 785GM-E65 @ Bjorn3D

“The biggest enhancement for the 785G would be its updated graphic controller base on the HD 4200. Most noticeably, improvements over the older 780G chipset would be the UVD 2.0 support for full MPEG-2/VC-1/H.264 hardware acceleration, DVI and HDMI output, and HDCP encoding. The chipset also supports DirectX 10.1 so it would be fully ready for Windows 7.”

“Being it has been a few years since I even remotely tried overclocking an AMD CPU I was unsure what the AMD 4000+ 2.1 GHz Brisbane dual core could do. Since the original motherboard I used in the girls computer would only allow a mere 2.5Ghz overclock. I am pretty sure this GIGABYTE motherboard could take this little dual core CPU to new levels. Question remains, how far will this CPU go?”

ASUS Crosshair III Formula

ASUS Crosshair III Formula @ Legit Reviews

“The ASUS Crosshair III Formula motherboard essentially takes the 790FX M4A79T-Deluxe PCB and tweaks it a bit while adding additional features and bumping the quality in the components. Like all Republic of Gamer boards the Crosshair III Formula comes with an add-in audio module providing cleaner sound. There is also the LCD Poster which provides diagnostic information and a menu for browsing through the options provided in TweakIt.”

X58 Motherboard Round-Up

X58 Motherboard Round-Up @ Overclockers Club

“The overclocked scores give us a better idea of how each board performs. In Apophysis, MSI’s X58 Platinum takes first place by one. The top performer in WinRAR is another MSI board. In just about every benchmark the MSI Eclipse Plus outperforms the competition. For this round I’d say the MSI Eclipse takes the cake, hands down, for both the stock and overclocked scores let’s move on to the next set of benchmarks.”

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R @ X-Bit labs

“Our today’s hero is Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R (rev. 1.6) mainboard. It is interesting because it is the junior model in the Gigabyte family on Intel X58 Express chipset. Moreover, so far this is the only Gigabyte board that has a revision 1.6 follow the startup revision 1.0. Off the top of my head, I can say that the new model uses a new network controller and chipset cooling system.”

“Atom has now got a boost to its design. Originally it was designed with a single core using hyper threading; the same technology Pentium 4 used to turn a single physical core into two logical processors. But it still wasn’t enough. It seems that there is no real substitute for a true second core. Atom 330 is Intel’s answer to a dual core low power CPU based around the Atom architecture.”

ECS A785GM-M

ECS A785GM-M @ PC Perspective

“The main features that will really draw consumer attention to the A785GM-M is the integration of ATI’s HD 4200 graphics on the motherboard. While we weren’t able to play some of the top FPS games on the market at decent resolutions, we were able to play games like Quake Live and F.E.A.R. at relatively high resolutions. The addition of HDMI and high-quality audio options makes this board ideal for those upgrading their HTPCs to handle high-definition content.”
