"Designed to support second-generation Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processors for the LGA2011 socket, Intel's Sandy Bridge Extreme X79 Express motherboards raise the standard for performance computers. ASUSTek, the largest of Intel's partners, is using this occasion to debut some impressive technology of their own: the ASUS P9X79 Deluxe motherboard."

"With such a huge list of boards available at launch, we need to take some time and see what they're all about and we've already had a look at some absolutely awesome boards. The ASUS Rampage IV Extreme is an absolute beast and offered us huge overclocking and just a massive amount of features. Along with that we also checked out the GIGABYTE G1.Assassin2 and MSI X79A-GD65."

"Third in line is the ECS X79R-AX, which despite its poor overclocking performance is still good enough at stock performance to go toe to toe with the more expensive motherboards tested while costing the least. It has some nice features like the 4-way SLI or CFX setup and the temperature indicator on the chipset heatsink. If money is an issue and you’re not planning to do any overclocking, the ECS X79R-AX is the best motherboard of the bunch."

"ASUS is known for producing a wide range of motherboards to suit just about any preference, need, or budget, and today we have three motherboards from their new X79 lineup for review. Each of these boards share many similarities but also some distinct differences, and rather than splitting them up into separate reviews, we've decided to compile them all into one big roundup."

"ASUS does have a few other products out there that offer the same, if not more, and the ASUS P9X79 Deluxe that recently arrived on our doorstep is definitely one of those products. Boasting ASUS's improved "Dual Intelligent Processors III" VRM design, the ASUS P9X79 Deluxe offers performance customization abilities that few other products do, easily setting it apart form the rest."
