"Being a somewhat 'affordable' X79 motherboard you do see features stripped away. No little buttons, extra LEDs, or Diagnostic POST displays. However, everything desired is supplied, the three USB 3.0 controllers allow up-to 6 USB 3 devices, you'll get plenty of SATA ports of which four are SATA3."

"Today the Sabertooth X79 board has arrived with us and hopes to carry on holding this torch they have gained from the P67 and 990FX Sabertooth boards, so we're keen to get down and dirty to see if the X79 can carry on the legacy and offer rock-hard stability whilst not skimping on the features that we've come to expect."

"TUF: The Ultimate Force. ASUS' most stable and reliable motherboard is backed by the industry's best five-year warranty. To attain this honor, the ASUS Sabertooth X79 motherboard endures extreme critical environmental testing that covers low to high chamber room temperatures up to 55°C at 90% humidity."
"This board is packed with incredible features that Asus has done a lot of work developing and I’m sure we’ll see even more with their X79 ROG board. I have to say that that board is one that I’m really looking forward to testing and putting through our gamut of benchmark applications."

"We first saw the Sabertooth name pop up with the introduction of the P67 chipset. The next time we'd see the name show up wasn't in the form of the Z68, though, it was instead in the AMD based 990FX chipset and it didn't quite have that same look about it as the shroud that covered the board wasn't present."

"The ASUS Sabretooth lineup always has been part of a little controversy. Some had no idea why the TUF series ever had to be made. Claiming high Durability and Reliability. So the other ASUS boards were inferior then in build quality ? Wouldn't they survive the torture test that the Sabretooth series do ? I've had the Sandybridge P67 version for internal testing and must say that it was a joy to work with."

“Premium motherboards like ASUS ’ Sabertooth X79 carry a hefty price tag but their Sabertooth series has always offered robust and solid features with a bit more modest price tag. For quite some time, ASUS has branded both the Rampage and the Sabertooth series but they skipped a beat on the Z68 motherboards with the Sabertooth series."
