"Intel's Core i7 8xx und Core i5 7xx CPUs are great, but the P55 chipset lacks a few features like SATA 6 Gb/s and USB 3.0. Even worse: You can't simply attach additional controllers using PCI Express because the lanes run at only half the speed (2.5 GT/s). We have seen a few P55 based mainboards and most of the time the SATA 6 Gb/s performance was far worse than what the SATA 3 Gb/s ports of the chipset will give you."
