BIOSTAR’s TA890GXB HD motherboard will be available for around $89 making it an excellent choice for the person that wants to build an inexpensive 6 core system. Overclocking is excellent as well with the V8 setting totally stable. This board can even be set up as an inexpensive HTPC option, though you will probably want a better sound option than the 5.1 provided by the board.

We will be pitting the TA890GXB-HD against the older 785G chipset to see just what type of performance the new chipset offers.

Overall the BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD is a solid Micro-ATX motherboard for what it is. It isn't being marketed as an extreme overclocking board, because it's not. It is a board designed for the mainstream market who are looking for a board that will support the latest processors from AMD and have great integrated graphics without breaking the bank.
