..:: Overclocking Results ::..
And now it’s time for what you’ve all been waiting for, overclocking results. As was mentioned prior, I chose to go with a voltage of 2.2V which should certainly be achievable across many performance motherboard lines. I attempted to boot the system at several CAS, RAS, etc. ratings below the rated 5-5-5-15 at 1066MHz to no avail. If you’re looking for 1066MHz with these modules you’re going to need to stick with the rated timings.
Once the system booted and was stable at 5-5-5-15, 1066MHz I began to slowly up the speeds and re-examine stability. When all was said and done, the mark where I found stability to begin to drop was roughly 1116MHz. Below this mark I experienced no stability issues throughout gaming, running F@H, etc. for several hours on end. Above 1116MHz, problems began to arise after a while of gaming or after a time of intensive F@H. I’d say that at 2.2V, this RAM is capable of 1100MHz with rock solid stability, with a few extra MHz possibly.
..:: Conclusion ::..
I’m quite impressed with Super Talent’s T1066UX1G5 modules. Being my first experience with a product of Super Talent, I have to say if these modules speak anything about the quality of other products I can’t wait to see what they come out with down the road. Granted, these aren’t killer overclocking modules good up to insane speeds of over 1200MHz, etc. They do boot into WindowsXP at 1200MHz, however system stability is a bit, well, lacking there. With a rating of 1066MHz at 5-5-5-15, these modules are excellent competition for other manufacturers like Corsair and OCZ. Those manufacturers’ modules may offer more headroom over the rated frequency, but they’ll likely come at a higher end cost. I would have no problem recommending these T1066UX1G5 modules to anyone looking for serious RAM frequency headroom at a slightly lower end cost than most of the big name competition. Overall, the Super Talent T1066UX1G5 modules offer what we all want — stability, performance, frequency headroom, a lifetime warranty and affordability.
