MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON

The Pro Carbon Series graphic is heavy on the racing theme imagery. The inference is that late model race cars employ Carbon Fiber as the material of choice for strength and weight savings to really drive performance. That being said, the X370 Gaming Pro Carbon is part of the Performance Gaming series of motherboards from MSI built for use with AMD socket AM4 processors.

The XPower branding over the years has been heavily associated with overclocking and enthusiast level performance, but due to a change in the direction MSI in terms of marketing, the XPowerbranding now correlates with gaming as well.

ASUS ROG STRIX X370-I Gaming

So even with new CPUs on the way if you are looking to build small form factor you will most likely still need to go X370 initially. So I’m excited both to finally see what Asus has to offer for AM4 ITX and to see how it compares to the Gigabyte AB350N board that I’ve been using all over the office. But I’m also hoping the Strix X370-I Gaming is a solid board that will let me build a crazy second gen Ryzen build when they finally come out as well.

Equipped with the X370 chipset, it’ll allow for overclocking of all Ryzen CPUs. Back that up with support for overclocked memory, fast charging tech, good networking capabilities, and storage options, and you’re set for a high-performance system. I’m also happy to see the good audio hardware. Also, an HDMI 2.0 port. Although I doubt many will be using a board like this with the APU hardware, it’s nice to have the choice.

ASRock X370 Pro4

We have taken a look at a few B350 motherboards that support the iGPU capabilities of the new Raven Ridge integrated graphics, but now we will take a look at an X370 motherboard with the same capabilities. The ASRock X370 PRO4 is an X370 motherboard with a very basic feature set, but designed to support the new Ryzen APUs. Let’s see what it has to offer.
