EVGA X299 Micro

The X299 Micro has three full-length PCIe slots, supporting up to 2-way graphics. The physical slot configuration allows for a dual slot GPU to fit in the primary GPU slot (top) and the secondary just below it. Technically EVGA’s manual suggests support for SLI plus an additional PhysX graphics card, should single-slot GPUs be in play, with the third slot being a PCIe 3.0 x4 from the chipset.

EVGA X299 Micro

EVGA always has three motherboards for each series they release, typically we see an E-ATX board, ATX board, and Micro-ATX board. Their X299 line is no different and today we are going to be checking out the X299 Micro, which is EVGA’s Micro-ATX X299 board. Considering how powerful the X299 platform is you could really build as pretty amazing smaller form factor system perfect for LAN parties.

EVGA X299 Micro

In this review I’ll be looking at the EVGA X299 Micro.  This is a MicroATX motherboard based on the Intel X299 chipset and designed for the new LGA 2066 Core-X processor platform.  If you couldn’t tell this is the replacement chipset for the previous X99 and promises to deliver more power for your high-end desktop needs.

Given the performance X299 is capable of, I’m excited to see if this board could be a good mATX build option to pack a lot of performance in a smaller package. EVGA typically keeps things simple with a blacked out look and little to no lighting for those who just want a clean good performing board. Let’s find out if that is the case again.
