MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK

The MSI MAG B550 as a normal ATX board with currently 160 Euro is not a real cheap one and I will therefore put the focus of the review on the teardown, the voltage converters including cooling, the audio chip including output power at different impedances and the M.2 performance. I’d rather leave the unpacking and touching to the unboxers.

ASRock B550 PG Velocita

For those contemplating a move to AMD and their increasingly popular Ryzen family of desktop processors, the B550 chipset is an interesting route to take. GIGABYTE’s B550 AORUS PRO is here, it’s affordable and it goes like the clappers. Armed with 2.5G Lan, dual M.2 sockets, a 12+2 phase PWM and the ability to overclock memory well past the 5,200MT/s range, the board is a mini performance wonder. The B550 AORUS Pro is the fastest AM4 board I’ve tested to date. For DRAM oc and general performance, few if any are faster then the B550 AORUS PRO.

ASRock B550 Taichi

The B550 Taichi is a stout board offering and is essentially an X570 Taichi but without the need for a chipset cooling fan and also sans Thunderbolt header. The price point is a strange one as the X570 Taichi is virtually the same price, but the B550 chipset does not have PCIe 4 lanes, which means you are limited to one PCIe 4 M.2.

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO

Today we will be presenting the Gigabyte AMD B550 AORUS Pro from Gigabyte! The B550 chipset will have some limitations compared to X570 but will provide a budget friendly option for the Ryzen 3000 CPU’s. And still provide all the great speed we are looking for! For some time now Gigabyte has been the choice, for me personally, when I buy my Motherboards.
