..:: Intel DP55KG “Kingsberg” Motherboard ::..

How sweet it is. Here we have Intel’s top of the line foray into the P55 motherboard world, the DP55KG, also known as “Kingsberg”. The P55 chipset could be a savior to many in that it brings the Core i7 and Core i5 processors into the realm of the average enthusiasts. Over the last few years motherboard prices have certainly crept up and up, especially on the high end products, leaving many out of the world of high performance computing merely due to the excessive costs. I still remember the days of buying a high end overclocking board in the mid $100 USD range. Are those days returning to us? Well, today we take our first glimpse at what could be a rekindling of this lower cost, performance love we have so long sought. Let’s see what the DP55KG has to offer us, and then take an in depth look at the board layout itself.
