MSI MAG Z490 TOMAHAWK

There’s large heatsinks, robust power delivery hardware, and more for your overclocking needs. Furthermore, you get fast networking thanks to the 2.5G LAN. Albeit, this is the first Z490 board on my desk this week that doesn’t have WiFi 6. However, you do get Turbo M.2, Lightning USB, Audio Boost, and more.

MSI MPG Z490 GAMING CARBON WIFI

It’s obviously not a “cheap” motherboard, but as I said, it’s not going to be right up with the ultra-expensive ones either. It’s certainly well equipped either way, with an impressive Enhanced Power Design for reliable overclocking. There’s also M.2 support, 2.5G LAN, AX WiFi, and a Lightning USB, and plenty more beyond. If that’s not ticking all the boxes for your next PC build, I’ll be shocked.

MSI MEG Z490 ACE

Aesthetics are certainly a strong point with this motherboard, offering up plenty of RGB lighting and effects, but it’s certainly function before form here. Enormous heatsinks, a massive INTELSIL Digital PWM setup with 16+1 phases and a 90A power stage, built-in WiFi 6 and 2.5G LAN. Plus you get extensive support for M.2, all complimented with M.2 Shield Frozr. ESS DAC & Nahimic for audio, and much more.

MSI MEG Z490 UNIFY

The MSI MEG ACE may be lavished in shiny gold trim, but the MSI MEG Z490 Unify is much sleeker, stealthy and more menacing. It’s also shed a few features such as dual LAN and some of the heatsinks and armour is a little more dialled back to lower the cost. However, make no mistake, as this is still a MEG series motherboard, meaning it’s still crammed full of high-end features that will appeal to the enthusiast gaming market.

MSI MEG Z490 GODLIKE

The Alpha, The Omega, Thee Almighty! There are few words that could top “EXTREME” or “ULTIMATE” but I think GODLIKE just about tops them all. That’s a bold name for any product though, you’re implying it’s basically infallible and perhaps even omnipotent. What I’m getting at, is that if this isn’t the fastest most amazing motherboard ever, it’s a bit of a silly name.

MSI MAG Z490 TOMAHAWK

“MSI Tomahawk” has got to be one of the pieces of literature every pc builder has come across sometime in their life and this is not without any reason. The Tomahawk falls between the boundary of cheap and and well suited for a build in the mid-end spectrum.

MSI MPG Z490 GAMING CARBON WIFI

Most of the boards that were sent over are higher end, but MSI sent over their MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFI which isn’t a budget board but is a little easier on the wallet. Its name may be a little long, but at just under $270 is it a good sweet spot for a Z490 build? Today I’m going to find out!

MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI

This is where the MSI X570 Tomahawk comes in and at $200 it’s going head to head with popular X570 mainstream boards such as the Asus TUF Gaming Plus, Gigabyte Aorus Elite and Asrock Steel Legend. Moreover, it will be replacing the horrible Gaming Edge WiFi, a board we really hope MSI discontinues, along with a few others including the X570 Pro Carbon.
