For our 3rd Gigabyte AORUS Z590 motherboard review, we have their PRO AX variant. This motherboard is going to be chock-full of features and will come at a more reasonable price compared to some. Now, we already know the AORUS line of products brings both performance and quality to the table and from what we have seen with their Z590 boards so far, they are staying true to this. Offering the best of both worlds is always important so it will be interesting to see if Gigabyte can keep this going with their Z590 AORUS PRO AX.

This new “Tachyon” is perhaps the basis of a new series of motherboards dedicated to overclocking in the AORUS range. To be sure, we will have to reach a new chipset to see if we find this name again. This AORUS Tachyon is built around Intel’s new chipset , the Z590. This motherboard retains the LGA-1200 socket from the Z490 chipset which will allow you to reuse your cooling system if you wish to upgrade your configuration. As a reminder, the LGA-1200 socket is different from the LGA-1151 since we go from 1151 pin to 1200 pinat the socket level .

Gigabyte has gone with a 10-layer PCB which is more than you will find on most motherboards, especially mini-ITX ones. Combine this with the 90A Phases, plenty of thermal reducing options and you’ve got yourself a worthy ITX board. We all know AORUS is aimed more at the premium side of things and they surely have not let us down. Trying to fit everything you want on an ITX board is a feat all of its own, but to do that and keep with the high-quality components really shows the lengths Gigabyte went through when designing the Z590I AORUS ULTRA.

While the Z590 AORUS Master is not the top board from Gigabyte, it is one of their betters boards and as such, comes with a whole host of features. You can find everything from support for Intel’s 11th Gen CPUs, to PCIe 4.0, WiFi 6E and more. The Master also features an advanced thermal design, 18+1 power phases for all our power and overclocking needs, USB 3.2 Gen2x2, ESS Sabre Hi-Fi 9118 DAC, 3x M.2 connections, RGB Fusion 2.0 and even Dual BIOS just in case anything goes wrong when overclocking or flashing the BIOS. This a very feature-packed board and should have almost everything one would need when upgrading to the new Z590 platform.
