BIOSTAR Racing Z490GTA EVO

The Biostar Z490GTA EVO is a decent board overall, offering updates from the Z390 version to support 10th Generation Intel processors. During short tests, the board performed just as well as the comparison boards. But in longer tests, it was slower. It’s $10 cheaper than the ASRock Z490 PG Velocita, but without an update to enable overclocking, it’s worth spending a little more on something else.

BIOSTAR Racing Z490GTN

With the new Z490 chipset, Biostar has gone for a more mid-range design in the Z490GTN. This $200 model is in the price bracket often seen as hyper-competitive. At that price, it’s perhaps too-high for a basic system (wait for the B-series chipset version), which means that Biostar has to make an effort to provide enough mid-range features to make the motherboard worthwhile.

BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA

While it’s not the most feature-packed motherboard, it’s hardly lacking in features either. It still has the usual X570 chipset with the PCB fan. It also has support for four DIMMs of high-speed DDR4 memory. Plus, with built-in HDMI, PCIe M.2, Gigabit LAN, etc, it’s ticking all the right boxes for your typical AMD PC build.

BIOSTAR Racing X570GT

The X570 Biostar Racing X570GT is Biostar’s answer for those who want to jump on the AMD bandwagon and achieve entry level workstation status, but desire a smaller package and a lower price. The Biostar Racing X570GT boasts an ultra rare Micro ATX form factor, and a neutral design aesthetic. With X570, there is a fine line between a sensible budget board and an overpriced one.

BIOSTAR Racing X570GT8

Biostar’s current sole X570 board is the least-expensive option that includes three heatsink-covered M.2 slots, while still including six SATA ports. Stock performance is on par with the competition, but overclocking was a bit of a disappointment. It’s a solid choice for builds focused on storage, but I wonder how it will handle overclocking future high-end Ryzen CPUs.
