Soltek PT880PRO-FGR

..:: Introduction ::..

Over the past two years, Soltek has strived to bring their clients solid motherboard solutions, while offering very competitive pricing schemes, and overall performance. Not too long ago, they made an attempt to make some inroads into the United States, the main area where they lacked a large presence, especially in comparison to Asia and Europe. Due to the less than ideal financial times, Soltek was forced to close their offices within the United States, and concentrate on penetrating the US market as much as possible for their home base in Taiwan. Soltek has always been one to offer some unique motherboards when it comes to aesthetics, whether it’s a silver, white, golden, or purple PCB, they’re always moving ahead. Today, we have a review of Soltek’s latest “Pro Series” motherboard, based off of the VIA PT880 chipset. We’ll be taking a look at the performance of not only the Soltek PT880PRO-FGR, but the PT880 chipset as well. We haven’t heard good things on the overclocking end so far, but performance has made some heads turn. Let’s see what Soltek has to offer with the PT880PRO-FGR.
