    Seagate Cheetah 10K.6
    Stephen Cooper, February 10th, 2002

    ..:: Introduction ::..

         It is yet another day of new horizons here at MBReview. Today we’ll be entering into a world that is rarely covered by only a few hardware review websites. Today, we’ll be taking a look at our first SCSI drive for review, the Cheetah 10K.6. This is the sixth generation 10,000 RPM enterprise-level SCSI drive from Seagate based off of the latest Ultra320 interface. The fact that this is the only sixth generation 10K drive in the industry should tell you the quality of the product Seagate is producing. Many of you out there might be wondering, why should I invest in a SCSI drive? The start up cost seems outrageous, why should I spend so much money on a single drive? Why exactly are these SCSI drives so highly touted over the cheaper and more readily available ATA drives? Well in today’s review we hope to answer all of these questions and then some. We’ll be throwing in some benchmarks to show you the performance difference between an ATA/133 hard drive. First off, let’s take a look at the specifications of the drive, and then get down to work.
