    FIC K8-800T
    Christopher Emry, February 16th, 2004

    ..:: Introduction ::..

         If you remember back to the beginning of the good old Slot-A days, one of the first motherboard manufacturers to ever provide this K7 solution for the do-it-yourself user was First International Computer. That seems to be a suiting name, since FIC also headed into Athlon 64 territory very early with their K8-800T motherboard.

         But let's face it. FIC really isn't a name that you hear about everyday in the news with voltage mod hacks or record breaking scores with their boards. The item to make acquaintance with, in regarding FIC, is the fact that they have been delivering motherboards to white box and OEM vendors for nearly twenty years, where the motherboard gets replaced only if it completely fails. Users that buy these machines typically do not upgrade to the next motherboard model every other month like enthusiasts tend to do, so FIC motherboards must be built to survive the test of time. This situation also holds true for first-time and do-it-yourself users.

         So what does all of this have to do with the K8-800T motherboard? Well, it has been on the MBReview test bench getting tortured ever since FIC initially started shipping it! But was the FIC K8-800T able to withstand our enthusiast wrath the entire time? Let's find out!
